Let me paint a visual picture for you. It’s 3pm on a Tuesday and you’re sitting at your desk, minding your own business, working away when you start to feel a slump of energy and the best way to describe your current mood is ‘snackish.’ Craving something sugary, you seek out a vending machine and aggressively buy 15 chocolate bars indulge in a chocolate bar, after eating it you feel a perk in your energy levels only to drop again not too long later. So you sit there, feeling like a fool and regretting your choice, alternatively you might have torn off the wrapping with your teeth and yelling I regret nothing! But if you did regret your choice and would like an alternative in the future, I have the answer for you, and the answer comes in the form of an almond in a maple syrup and cinnamon outfit.
200 grams almonds
3 ½ tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sea salt
Preheat the oven to 175 Celsius.
Melt the maple syrup in the microwave and pour into a bowl over the almonds. Sprinkle the sea salt and cinnamon into the mixture.
Spread the almonds onto a baking tray and put in the oven for about 20/25 minutes, shaking halfway through cooking.
Leave to cool and enjoy at work at 3pm when that slump hits you, and don’t forget to yell I regret nothing while you’re at it!
