Almond butter is such a great staple ingredient to have in your kitchen to use in baking and spread on toast for breakfast. My only issue with it is that although there are some really great brands out there, they aren’t always the cheapest to buy. I had a spare 10 mins up my sleeve and decided to try making my own. The result was simple and delicious I knew I had to share it immediately (just on here though, I already ate all the butter). All you need to make this easy almond butter recipe is 10 mins and two ingredients.
Almond butter is so simple to make, so easy in fact you could do it with your eyes closed but I wouldn’t recommend actually making it with your eyes closed since there will be use of a blender and oven both of which could result in some serious injuries. Injuries which could, you know, seriously distract you from being able to eat the almond butter.
Easy Almond Butter Recipe – Ingredients
1 cup of almonds
2 tablespoons of olive oil
pinch of salt (optional, to taste)
Easy Almond Butter Recipe – Method
Put the almonds on a lined baking tray.
Pop the tray in a pre-heated oven at 180 Celsius for about 5 – 7 mins.
Leave the almonds to cool. If you are inpatient like I am, pop them in the freezer for a few mins to reduce temperature.
Put the almonds in a blender with the first tablespoon of oil and blitz for about 1 min. Add the last tablespoon of oil and blitz until creamy.
Transfer into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
