Vegan Chocolate Milk Recipe

This vegan chocolate milk can be whipped up in less than 2 minutes and is super kid friendly. Not that you have to be a child to enjoy it by any means!

I like to add this to my weekend breakfasts along side avocado on toast – heaven! Not only is chocolate for breakfast a good thing in general, there are some fantastic nutritional benefits to this recipe.

Cocoa is naturally high in antioxidants as well as some minerals such as magnesium and iron. In addition to featuring in everyone’s favourite Gwen Stefani song, bananas offer some fantastic cardiovascular and digestive health benefits. They are are a source of fructooligosaccharides, which is a complicated and fancy word for something which acts like a probiotic in your body and helps with promoting growth of good bacteria in the digestive track.

In regards to your heart, bananas are a great source of potassium, which aids with the reduction of high blood pressure.

Vegan Chocolate Milk Recipe – Ingredients – Serves 2

2 cups of almond or coconut milk
1 frozen banana, the riper the better
4 tablespoons of cacao or cocoa powder
1 dried and pitted date (optional – try to make it without and then if you want to up the sweetness, add the date)

Vegan Chocolate Milk Recipe – Method

Simply pop everything into a blender and blitz for about one minute.
